Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Gaia Guest House in San Cristobal de las Casas, I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and functionality of this spacious 900 sq. Ft. Ground-floor home. The five well-appointed rooms each exuded comfort, with a lovely kitchen/dining area perfect for savoring homemade breakfasts involving fresh fruits and granola while enjoying views of the tranquil garden. The property feels like a hidden gem-located conveniently between the main plaza and the stunning Guadalupe church, yet slightly off the bustling path, allowing for a serene atmosphere without the usual tourist frenzy. Daily housekeeping by the ever-smiling Angelina added a familial touch; her kindness and responsiveness made us feel right at home. For anyone visiting, I highly recommend taking advantage of their paid shuttle service, which ensures a seamless arrival and departure from the nearby airports. Gaia Guest House has truly become one of my favorite spots in Mexico, offering a perfect blend of comfort, location, and genuine hospitality for seasoned travelers and food enthusiasts like myself who appreciate a cozy retreat after exploring vibrant local cuisine.
